The Aburihene who doubles as Adontenhene of Akuapem Traditional Area, Otubuor Gyan Kwasi II, has urged politicians to desist from character assassination and politics of insults.
The chief has encouraged politicians to conduct their campaigns with decorum devoid of insults and name-calling ahead of the December 7 election.
Otubour Gyan II was speaking at a ceremony to swear in Nana Kwamena Ansah I, as Asawam in the Eastern Region.
He entreated all political party communicators to execute their analysis and debates on both radio and television devoid of insult and character assassination.
For the Electoral Commission(EC), the chief urged the electoral body to ensure a free, fair and transparent process.
Meanwhile, Nana Kwamena Ansah I pledged to serve the people diligently for development.
He stressed the critical role of peace and social cohesion in facilitating area development and urged the community to continue fostering unity.
