To enhance educational resources and promote health awareness, the Goals Foundation, a non-profit youth-focused organisation, has donated textbooks, exercise and sanitary pads to Tapa Amanfrom basic schools in the Biakoye district of the Region.
The initiative aims to support students’ learning experiences while addressing the critical need for menstrual hygiene management among young girls.
The textbooks cover a range of subjects including science, mathematics, English and Social Studies.
They are designed to align with current educational standards and provide students with the tools they need to succeed academically.
In addition to the textbooks, the provision of sanitary pads is a vital component of the foundation’s mission.
Many young girls face challenges during their menstrual cycles, often leading to absenteeism from school.
By providing sanitary pads, the Goals Foundation aims to ensure that girls can attend school without the fear of discomfort or embarrassment, thereby promoting gender equality in education.
During the event, Louis Nana Asiedu, the founder of Goals Foundation, emphasized the importance of education and health in shaping the future of the community.
He stressed that the organization believe that every child deserves access to quality education and the resources necessary to thrive.
According to him, the Goals Foundation’s initiative is part of a broader commitment to community development and social responsibility.
Nana Asiedu noted that by addressing both educational and health needs, the foundation is making a lasting impact on the lives of students and their families.
He urged the students and the teachers to make meaningful use of the items received to enhance their academic achievement.
The response from the schools has been overwhelmingly positive, with educators expressing gratitude for the much-needed resources.
The head teacher of Tapa Amanfrom JHS, Peter Boamah said, the modern textbooks will greatly enhance their curriculum and provide students with a better understanding of the subjects they are studying.
He also indicated that, the sanitary pads will help young girls feel more comfortable and confident in their studies.
