Ghanaian dancehall star, Stonebwoy, has responded to critics who have labeled him as “stingy” for refusing to throw money at fans during performances.
The musician explained that he finds the practice of tossing cash into crowds disrespectful and morally problematic.
Stonebwoy noted that throwing money can create chaos, with only a few fans benefiting while others are left out.
He explained that sometimes it results in injuries as fans scramble for the cash, a situation he said he has witnessed firsthand.
Instead, he prefers to personally hand over money to fans in a more organized manner, ensuring everyone has a fair opportunity to receive something.
“”I just don’t like the idea of throwing money because it is disrespectful, but Ghanaians have a different mindset. “I time them and rather hand it over personally. I like it when they line up and come for it one after the other. Throwing money does not fulfill the purpose because only a few will be fortunate to pick up, and the rest will be left with nothing,” he shared.
To those who argue that the show off is a way to connect to fans, Stonebwoy defended that there are more dignified ways of giving back to the fanbase and showing love.
