Esther Smith set to release new music every six months

Renowned gospel musician, Esther Smith has announced her return to the music scene after a few years of taking a break to focus on her family.

Speaking in an interview on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z with host Kwame Dadzie, the UK-based artiste revealed that she is back “for good” and will be actively involved in her music career once again.

Esther, known for her inspirational songs, is currently working on a new project with celebrated music producer and multi-instrumentalist Kwame Yeboah.

She disclosed that, she plans to release new music consistently.

“I am doing a work with Kwame Yeboah, so every six months, we will release one song” she stated.

Meanwhile, she emphasized that her music continues to be inspired by her faith, explaining that each song undergoes a period of fasting and prayer before it is recorded. According to her, this spiritual preparation is to ensure that her songs carry the power to transform lives.

Esther Smith is currently in Ghana to headline two gospel concerts. The first concert will take place on August 25, 2024, at the Bantama Pentecost Church in Kumasi, followed by another on August 30, 2024, in Accra.

Joining her for the performances are notable gospel artists such as Joe Beecham, Lady Prempeh, Morris Babyface, Randy Agyemang, Adom Kiki, and Noble Nketsia. Other performers include Mark Anim Yirenkyi, Nana Yaw Asare, Joyce Blessing, Oware Junior, and Minister OJ.

Reflecting on her music’s impact, Esther shared a touching story about how one of her songs, “Ma Wonsan,” saved a marriage. She recounted, “One gentleman told me, ‘Hey Esther, do you know that your song ‘Ma Wonsan’—I was nearly divorcing my wife, but the song brought us back together.’”

With eight albums to her name, including “Gye No Di,” “Onyame Boafo,” “Kura Wo Gyidie Mu,” and “Maye Nhyira,” Esther Smith’s legacy in the gospel music industry is significant.

Additionally, she has released singles such as “Golgotha” and her latest song, “Onyame Banjo,” which features Morris Babyface.

As she embarks on this new chapter in her music career, Esther Smith’s return is anticipated to inspire many and reaffirm her place as one of Ghana’s most impactful gospel musicians.
