20-year-old arrested for stealing metal road signs and fenders

-

Kwame Philip, a 20-year-old, has been arrested by the Nkawkaw Police for stealing fenders and metal road signs from the Nkawkaw to Obomeng road.

The chiefs of Kwawu Obomeng are outraged by his actions because the removal of these fenders has made the already pothole-ridden road even more hazardous.

Nana Osei Kissi, the Benkum Hene of Kwawu Obomeng, who spoke on behalf of Nana Effah Openamang III, urged both the Nkawkaw Police and the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to enforce the law and ensure that Philip is prosecuted.

Nana Kissi also expressed concerns about the prevalence of thieves among scrap dealers, who often use the guise of metal collection to commit theft.

He further appealed to the IGP and Nkawkaw Police to address the issue by dismantling scrap dealers operating at the Nkawkaw train station near Liberty Church, a known hotspot for armed robberies.
