A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communications Team, Stephen Bennieh, has called Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia “the biggest liar in Ghana.”

Mr Bennieh criticized the Vice President for failing to fulfil numerous promises made by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) during the 2016 elections.

Speaking on Adom FM’s Burning Issues with host Akua Boakyewaa Yiadom, Bennieh expressed his frustration, saying, “The NPP promised to move the economy from taxation to production in 2016, yet we are still burdened with more taxes, including the ‘borla’ tax. Ghana is the only country in the world still paying a Covid tax. And now, we even have a betting tax.”

He continued by questioning Dr. Bawumia’s unfulfilled promises, including constructing concrete roads and ensuring every Ghanaian has a bank account.

“Where are all these policies? He is the biggest liar in Ghana,” Bennieh concluded.

The remarks throw more light on growing criticism of the government’s handling of the economy and its inability to deliver on campaign promises as December 7 elections inches closer.
