No need to own a cylinder; check out how CRM works [Audio]

-

The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has reiterated that residents in Accra and selected parts of the country do not have to own a cylinder to use gas under the recirculation model.

Gas users only have to pick filled-up cylinders and pay for the content, the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), after registering with their National Identity Card.

The Head of Gas Commercial Regulation at NPA, Obed Kraine Boachie disclosed this in an interview on Asempa FM Ekosii Sen programme Tuesday.

Mr Boachie explained that, the registration at the exchange points is important to collect data on consumers for traceability.

“Under the recirculation model, you do not need to buy a cylinder before you start using LPG, you can go to an exchange point, you get registered and pay a fee then you have access to a cylinder to begin to use LPG,” Mr. Kraine Boachie explained.

He added per the policy, there will be various sizes of cylinders displayed at the exchange points to enable consumers to buy any amount they can afford.

Mr Boachie emphasised that, consumers would also not bear the responsibility for fixing faulty cylinders as that will be the work of the Ghana Cylinder Manufacturing Company.
