No blood at Bole District Hospital – Health Director

-

The Bole District Director of Health, Ndapewurche Hajia Fuseina Sulemana, has urgently called on residents to donate blood due to a shortage in the district’s blood bank.

During the mid-term review meeting at Bole District Hospital on Monday, Hajia Fuseina emphasized the severity of the situation, noting that the hospital’s blood reserves are nearly exhausted.

This shortage, she said is significantly impacting the hospital’s ability to provide essential healthcare services.

“We sometimes lack the necessary blood supplies for our patients, which makes delivering adequate healthcare challenging,” she said.

The meeting, attended by health practitioners, Bole District Assembly representatives, security services, and other stakeholders, focused on enhancing healthcare delivery in the district.

Hajia Fuseina also reported progress in several health programs, including the mass distribution of mosquito nets, seasonal malaria chemoprevention, and school deworming initiatives.

However, she highlighted ongoing challenges, particularly the need for improved office space for the Health Directorate.

“Despite the successes of our programmes, we still face issues with inadequate office space for our operations,” she noted.
