Govt must support well-performing private schools – North West International School vice principal

-

The Vice Principal of the newly established North West International School, Ms. Millicent Djisenu, has called on the government to extend support to private educational institutions that are excelling in their efforts to complement the government’s role in providing quality education.

According to Ms. Djisenu, while it is the government’s responsibility to ensure accessible education for all, private schools that take on this challenge and excel in their mission deserve recognition and assistance.

Speaking at the commissioning of the North West International School, she emphasized the importance of government support in various forms.

“There are many ways the government can help us—by providing textbooks, furniture, toiletries, or even posting Ghana Education Service (GES) teachers to private schools. Many teachers aspire to work in government schools, but if the government could extend this support to us, we could also offer competitive salaries to retain their passion for teaching,” she said.

North West International School, an ultra-modern educational facility located in Ga West, Oshuman near Ga Odumase in Accra, is now open for student admissions for the upcoming academic year starting in September 2024.

The school offers a blend of British and Ghana Education Service (GES) curricula, ensuring that students receive a well-rounded education that prepares them for success in any global setting.

The institution prides itself on its state-of-the-art facilities and highly trained tutors, providing an educational environment that is unmatched in Ghana.

Ms. Djisenu stressed that the choice of a school for a child should go beyond mere enrollment and should involve placing the child in a modern educational environment with the best teachers, facilities, and peers to prepare them for the future.

The commissioning event was attended by notable guests, including Hon. Vida Addai, Alhaji Sariki Muhammad Kamal (Hausa Chief of Germany), Sarkin Samari of Hamburg, Songhai Chief of Ablekuma Central, and Alhaji Adams, Chairman of Ramar Mosque in Hamburg.
