Be measured, reasonable in activism – Mahama charges students

-

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama has admonished students and young people to emulate the late Paul Victor (PV) Obeng’s approach to activism.

The former President has said such activism should be measured, reasonable, and academically focused.

Mr Mahama made the clarion call as the guest of honour at a public lecture commemorative the 10th anniversary of PV Obeng’s passing in Kumasi.

“Student activism is good but must be borne out of conviction and must be measured and reasonable,” he urged.

Mr Mahama highlighted key principles and qualities that Ghanaians, particularly young people can learn from PV Obeng’s legacy.

He noted that, PV Obeng led many student actions with a balance of reason and respect.

These qualities, he acknowledged are essential for students who wish to engage in meaningful activism.
