A youth group in the Assin Central Constituency, identifying themselves as the “Gallant Youth of Assin Central,” has issued a 3-day ultimatum to the Assin Central National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary candidate, Nurein Shaibu Migyima.

They are demanding that he withdraws a derogatory comment he made about the Assin Central constituents during a campaign tour at Assin Ewusem.

Mr. Migyima while on a campaign tour with the NDC running mate, Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, at Assin Ewusem is quoted to have said the constituency is leading in social vices.

In the said audio, Migyima is quoted as saying, “Due to the high rate of unemployment in the Assin Central Constituency, when it comes to promiscuity (Edwaman) in the Central Region and Ghana at large, Assin Central is number one. When it comes to fraud, Assin Central is number one. When it comes to stealing, Assin Central is number one.”

The “Gallant Youth of Assin Central”lead by Hannah Coffie is demanding a retraction and an apology within 3 days or they will take action.

Also, Kofi Tibu stated that, Mr. Migyima’s comment could have serious repercussions for the Assin Central constituents in their efforts to secure employment.
