The Anum Traditional Council in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region, led by Okusiako Brempong Kumi Sasraku VIII, the overlord of Anum, has suspended Okogyeaman Akwasi Anyane, the Adontenhene of the area.
They accused him for allegedly sabotaging development.
The Anum Traditional Council, along with all divisional and sub-chiefs, made this decision during an emergency meeting held at the Ahui-Kpoomo Palace in Anum.
A sheep was slaughtered, and libation was poured to signify the Adontenhene’s suspension.
Okusiako Brempong Kumi Sasraku VIII, the Omanhene of the Anum Traditional Area, stated that the Adontenhene’s conduct is contrary to their traditional norms.
Despite several warnings issued by the Council, Okogyeaman Akwasi Anyane did not comply, leading to his suspension.
Some sub-chiefs and divisional chiefs speaking to the media condemned the actions of the Adontenhene and urged to srtop kicking against development in the area.
In response, Okogyeaman Akwasi Anyane denied all allegations against him and highlighted some of the developmental projects he has undertaken.
