Farmers in Anuruso, a farming community in Asante Akyem Odumasi, Ohenenkwanta, have expressed deep concern over the sale and impending destruction of a railway bridge on the Anuruso River in the Ashanti Region.

This bridge serves as a crucial route for both farmers and residents.

According to the farmers, removing the bridge will severely impact their farming activities.

Speaking in an interview, the Assembly member for the area, Ibrahim Yakubu, highlighted the significance of the bridge to the local community.

“The sale and destruction of the Anuruso railway bridge is a significant blow to the area, affecting not only farmers but also school children who rely on this route,” he stated.

Mr Yakubu further urged the government and other stakeholders to intervene immediately.
