Private legal practitioner and seasoned politician, Captain Nkrabea Effah Dartey, has expressed his desire to return to Parliament.

According to him, it is the most fulfilling aspect of his career.

Mr. Effah Dartey noted that, his time in Parliament representing the then Berekum constituency was marked by intellectual debates and a deep satisfaction derived from his role as a communicator and advocate.

In an interview on the Prime Morning Show on Joy Prime, Effah Dartey described Parliament as an exhilarating environment where he thrived on discussions and debates.

“Being in Parliament was the most exciting part of my life. The debates and discussions on the floor of the House were intellectually stimulating, and I truly enjoyed the opportunity to engage in such exchanges” he stated.

Mr Effah Dartey highlighted the vibrant nature of parliamentary sessions, noting that he never missed a sitting unless unavoidable.

He fondly remembered the dynamic atmosphere of Parliament, where members had the chance to stand up and make statements, followed by comments and discussions. “The opportunity to contribute and respond to statements made by other members made the experience even more engaging for me,” he added.

Despite his enthusiasm, Mr Effah Dartey acknowledged that his return to Parliament might be complicated by the recent reorganization of Berekum, which has been divided into Berekum East and Berekum West constituencies.

“I was previously the MP for Berekum, but now the constituency is divided,” he explained. “My hometown, Jinjini, is in Berekum West, while Berekum East is part of the Berekum Metropolitan area. I am uncertain about the current political landscape and my role in it.”
