The Assin Central NDC members have reacted to the press conference of the Assin Central NPP, demanding an apology and retraction of a statement made by the Assin Central NDC Parliamentary candidate, Nurein Shaibu Migyima during a campaign tour at Assin Awusem.
Mr. Migyima is quoted as having referred to the Assin Central Constituency as being number one in promiscuity (Edwaman), fraud, and stealing across the country, a statement for which the NPP is demanding data to support the claim.
Reacting to the issue in a press conference, the Assin Central NDC Communication Officer, Abdoni Emmanuel, called on the NPP members to stop being hypocritical about the statement made by Migyima.
“Where were the NPP members when Kennedy Ohene Agyapong referred to the people of Assin Central as lazy? Where were they when the EOCO described Assin Central as a national hub for human trafficking and banking fraud?” he quizzed.
He further called on the NPP to be worried about the escalating unemployment rate and car stealing trend in Assin Fosu instead of reacting to harmless statements like the one in question.
