The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is urging Vice President Bawumia to focus more on economic issues, as he did before the 2016 general elections.
Addressing a rally at Tempane in the Upper East region during his campaign tour, the NDC’s Flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, questioned why the Vice President is no longer holding economic lectures about the state of the country’s economy.
Mahama stated that his main contender was once hailed as an economic wizard in 2016 but is now focusing on digitalization because he has failed in economic management.
Rather, his recent agenda has been focused on digitization, of which he is positive will not be effectively implemented under the NPP government.
“In 2016, they said they are bringing an economic wizard because Mahama is incompetent, NDC is incompetent, vote for NPP to come. He will be fixing the economy so the cedi goes to GHS 1 to $1. Now the person doesn’t even talk about economy again,” Mahama poked.
Also, Mahama accused the ruling regime of vote-buying ahead of the elections, calling on Ghanaians to reject monetary influences and vote based on principles and the need for change.
Hundreds of supporters gathered at Tempane SHS to meet John Mahama, who is spreading a message of hope and restoration.
Mahama remarked that there is the growing need to reset the country, as he believes the current rulers of Ghana have destroyed its structures.
So far, Mahama and his team have received a warm reception, with many supporters expressing optimism for victory in the December polls
