Releasing my book was a big therapy for me – Yvonne Nelson

-

Actress, Yvonne Nelson has revealed that releasing her book, I Am Not Yvonne Nelson, has been a deeply therapeutic experience for her.

She said it took years to complete the work and described the process as a remarkable journey.

Speaking during the graduation ceremony at her school, Ms. Nelson said everyone faces personal challenges and struggles but they often keep to themselves.

For her, writing the book and sharing her story was a very good therapy.

“It’s been a wonderful ride. I worked on this book for a long time, contrary to what people might think—that I just woke up one day and wrote it in a week. We all have difficulties and things we don’t discuss with others, and writing this book has been a significant form of therapy for me. I have much more to share, but we’ll see what the future holds,” she told Joy News.

In her book, Nelson reveals that she does not know her biological father, as the man she believed was her father was not her biological parent.

The book explores her childhood and the challenges she faced to reach where she is today.
