Brandon Thomas-Asante will strengthen our attack – Coventry City manager

-

Coventry City manager, Mark Robins is optimistic about the prospects of Ghanaian striker Brandon Thomas-Asante.

The dynamic forward joins from fellow Championship club West Bromwich Albion in the ongoing summer transfer window.

The 25-year-old has signed a four-year contract with the Sky Blues for an undisclosed fee.

Robins lauded the new addition, saying, “We’re thrilled to welcome Brandon to Coventry City. He is a powerful and pacy striker with a proven goalscoring record at this level, coupled with a fantastic attitude and work ethic.

“Brandon’s versatility across the front line will enhance our attacking options. We eagerly anticipate working with him at Coventry City,” he added.

Thomas-Asante joined West Brom on a three-year deal for a fee reported to be around £300,000, turning down an offer from Birmingham City before last season began.

During his time at West Brom, Thomas-Asante made 78 appearances across all competitions and scored 21 goals.

He is expected to rejoin the Black Stars squad in September for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium, having made his debut against the Central African Republic in June earlier this year in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
