Coventry City has officially announced the signing of Ghanaian international, Brandon Thomas-Asante from their Championship rivals, West Bromwich Albion.
The 25-year-old forward has agreed to a four-year contract with the Sky Blues, following an undisclosed transfer fee arrangement with the Baggies.
Coventry City successfully outbid fellow Championship club Hull City to secure Thomas-Asante’s services for the 2024–25 season.
The club’s statement read: “Coventry City are delighted to announce the signing of Brandon Thomas-Asante from West Bromwich Albion!”
Thomas-Asante began his professional career at Milton Keynes Dons, making his debut at age 17 in 2016. After loan spells at Sutton United and Oxford City, he left Milton Keynes in 2019, having made 35 appearances.
Following a short stint at Ebsfleet United, Thomas-Asante joined Salford City in League Two, where he thrived, playing 126 games, scoring 30 goals, and winning the EFL Trophy.
His impressive form at Salford led to a move to West Bromwich Albion at the start of the 2022/23 season.
As a striker, Thomas-Asante was the top scorer for West Brom in both his seasons there, netting 9 goals in the 2022/23 season and 12 goals in the 2023/24 season, across 78 games.
Thomas-Asante made his debut for Ghana’s senior national team during the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against the Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi in March 2024.
