A video capturing the final moments of veteran actress and singer, Onyeka Onwenu has surfaced online, stirring emotions among fans and well-wishers as they mourn her sudden passing.

The beloved actress passed away on July 30, 2024, shortly after performing at the 80th birthday party of pharmaceutical mogul Mrs. Stella Okoli.

The video shows Onwenu doing what she did best; engaging and entertaining the crowd with her sweet and somber music.

In attendance was politician Peter Obi, who exchanged pleasantries with her, showcasing  their mutual bond.

Madam Onwenu appeared hale and hearty, radiating joy as she performed, with no hint of the tragedy that would soon unfold.

After her performance, she reportedly slumped while returning to her seat and was immediately rushed to the Reddington Hospital in Lagos.

Sadly, she succumbed shortly after.

Onyeka Onwenu is survived by her two sons.

The Nollywood and music industries are in deep mourning, grieving the loss of a legendary figure whose contributions and legacy will never be forgotten.
