The running mate to former President John Dramani Mahama, Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang has praised Mahama as an honest and truthful leader.
She believes that Mahama embodies the qualities Ghanaians desire in a leader.
Speaking during the launch of the NDC campaign in Tamale on Saturday, July 27, she said “Ghana needs a truthful respectful leader in the person of John Dramani Mahama.”
“We have tried him, he has reflected on what is going and he is coming up with new ideas. We are very happy that Mahama did not give up on this country and that he is ready to put himself up to rescue, stabilize, and redeem this country.”
For his part, General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Fifi Kwetey said the governing NPP is determined to hold onto power in this year’s elections because they know they will be prosecuted for corruption.
However, he said the NDC will not allow the NPP to rig the elections.
