No road, no votes – Adamorobe residents protest for road repairs

-

Residents of Adamorobe in the Akuapem South Municipality, Eastern Region, have taken to the streets to protest against the poor state of their roads.

They expressed frustration over years of neglect and lack of action from authorities regarding the deteriorating road condition.

In an interview with Citi News, locals shared how the bad roads are disrupting their daily lives and affecting their livelihoods.

They have vowed not to votes if the government does not address the issue, chanting “No road, no votes.”

“We are committed to our demand for road repairs. The red bands you see signify that we are preparing for a major demonstration if no action is taken. If the government does not act soon and brings the ballot boxes, we will not participate in the voting process,” a resident said.

Another resident added, “We cannot remain silent about the poor road conditions. In my entire lifetime, I have never seen any improvement on these roads. Although drivers in the area try to help, transportation costs are high. We are pleading with the government to fix our roads. Adamorobe is an NPP stronghold—why have we been neglected?”.
