GOtv brings you the Soccer Champions Tour: 24-28 July 2024

-

Before the new football season starts, there’s “pre-season” and GOtv will be bringing our beloved viewers some highly anticipated clashes in the Soccer Champions Tour. Where have you been? Sign up for GOtv and get a taste of what quality sports is made of.

The Premier League season is only a few weeks away and the tour is going to be featuring various clubs who’ll be playing friendly matches in the United States. A big headliner for this week is the clash between Manchester City and AC Milan in New York.

The Sky Blues will be going up against the Rossoneri at the Yankee Stadium on Sunday morning, 28 July. But before that, Pep Guardiola’s charges will go up against Scottish heavyweights Celtic at the Kenan Memorial Stadium in Chapel Hill, North Carolina on Wednesday morning, 24 July.

There’s been a lot of noise surrounding the possible departure of Kevin De Bruyne from City, but Guardiola has all but confirmed that his playmaker isn’t going anywhere. “Kevin isn’t leaving,” he declared to the press. “If someone leaves, we are going to talk about that and, of course, until the last day [of the transfer window] we have chances. I don’t rule out new players as an option, but I think there is an 85, 90, 95% chance we will have the same squad.”

Arsenal will also be in action as they take on fellow Premier League opponents Bournemouth at Dignity Health Sports Park in Los Angeles, California, on the morning of Thursday 25 July. For Arsenal, they’ll be taking their preparations seriously as they might be having a go at City once again for the league title.

Mikel Arteta is not downplaying the importance of preparing for the season ahead, although most people take pre-season matches not so seriously. “We’re gonna play in three different surfaces, three different stadiums, different weather conditions. Travelling is different, different opposition, so great preparation for us,” he says.
