A man posing as a lecturer was apprehended for stealing phones from first-year students of the Federal College of Education (FCE) in Bichi, Nigeria.
The imposter entered a class of freshers, claiming to be their lecturer, and announced a surprise test.
During the test, he seized several phones, ostensibly to prevent cheating, and left the classroom.
The fake lecturer told the class representative to collect the tests and bring them to his office.
However, instead of returning, he absconded with the phones.
The students, realizing they had been duped, used tracking technology to locate their phones.
The signal reportedly led them to a black market where the suspect was attempting to sell the stolen devices.
Acting swiftly, the students rushed to the location and apprehended the man.
Upon being confronted, the suspect confessed that he was not a lecturer at the school.
