The National General Secretary of the Revival Outreach Church International, Rev. Lawrence Kumi, has urged Ghanaians to separate plastic waste from other types of waste.

He stressed the importance of this practice in preventing the destruction of our lands and water bodies.

Rev. Kumi made these remarks during the celebration of Ghana Day, which was themed “Clothe a Ghanaian, Feed a Ghanaian.”

The church also launched the Creation Care Club to promote recycling, with the club aiming to help keep our gutters, beaches, and water bodies free of waste.

The Revival Outreach Church International began the Ghana Day celebration two years ago as a way to give back to the community. This year’s celebration was held at the church’s Odorkor branch in the Greater Accra Region.

Rev. Kumi emphasized the need for proper waste management by encouraging people to separate plastic waste from other types of waste, as some materials are biodegradable and should not be mixed with non-biodegradable waste.

He stressed the importance of avoiding actions that could harm the environment.

Attendees of the celebration, including church members, expressed their appreciation for the event and called for more such initiatives to bring the church and the community closer together.

“We truly appreciate our church leaders for organizing such an event” they added.
