Democracy Cup: Asante Kotoko aims to record third consecutive win over Hearts of Oak

-

Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Fredrick Asare is optimistic about their chances in the upcoming Democracy Cup clash against Hearts of Oak.

The two prestigious clubs will face off at the Accra Sports Stadium tonight, celebrating 30 years of Parliamentary Democracy under the Fourth Republic.

At a press conference on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, held at Parliament House, Asare confidently stated that the Porcupine Warriors will triumph over the Phobians.

“The narrative of Hearts of Oak winning maiden trophies is going to change tomorrow because it’s a new era,” Asare declared.

In the just-ended Ghana Premier League season, Asante Kotoko recorded back-to-back wins against the Phobian Club.

Before the main event between Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, a mini-friendly match will feature former Black Stars players against Parliamentarians.

The former Black Stars versus Parliamentarians game will kick off at 1 pm, while the Hearts of Oak versus Asante Kotoko match is set to start at 6 pm.

The winner of the Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko game will earn the opportunity to represent Ghana in a friendly match against DC United in Washington.
