Woman travels to surprise long-distance boyfriend – but finds him with another girl

-

For those of us who have experience with long-distance relationships, we know how difficult it can be to maintain a connection with someone you only see a few times a year.

But one woman from the US has been left heartbroken after she travelled across the country to see her boyfriend, who was away studying at university, only to find he was seeing someone else behind her back.

Mary Fatz, who posts on TikTok under the username @maryfatz, revealed in a video that she had travelled to her boyfriend’s halls of residence and had knocked on his door, but no one had answered even though she knew he was in – because he had another girl in his room with him.

In the video, which shows Mary looking confused as she stands in the hallway to his bedroom, she wrote: “When you go to visit your long-distance boyfriend and he doesn’t answer because he has a girl over.”

The woman’s video has quickly gone viral and currently has over 28.4 million views – with more than 7,000 commenters leaving messages of support for her.

Several commenters even shared their own experiences with dating long-distance, as they claimed they’d been through similar heartbreaking situations themselves.

One person said: “I had the exact same thing happen to me, except his roommate let me into his room without him knowing.”

While another added: “I’ve been done so wrong in the past that I would assume the guys in the back were his lookouts and he texted them to see who was at the door.”

And a third wrote: “I was going to visit my ex at university and he told me not to come because I was his ‘hometown girl’. Which meant he was cheating.”

More commenters also tried to lift Mary’s spirits, as they told her she deserves better than a man who cheats.

Someone said: “You don’t deserve him!”

As someone else insisted: “This is my biggest fear, and this is why I’ll never do this.”
