Hot audio: Gomoa Nyanyano nurses forced to rely on torchlight for deliveries

-

Nurses at the Gomoa Nyanyano Health Centre in the Central region are forced to use torch lights to deliver pregnant women of their babies due to frequent power outages in the area.

The health officials and patients rely on lights on mobile phones to administer health care anytime the area is hit by power cuts.

This was revealed by the Physician Assistant in charge of Nyanyano Health Center, Madam Abuyaama Adams when the member of Parliament for Gomoa East constituency Kojo Asemeyin  donated  15 electronic  hospital beds and tables worth GH₵45,000 to the centre.

Sometimes, Madam Adams said they use the light on their mobile phones for deliveries when they run out of batteries for the torchlight.

“The issue is even worse when the facility runs out of water”, the Physician Assistant in charge of Nyanyano Health Center disclosed.

Madam Abuyaama Adams therefore appealed to government to as a matter of urgency come to their aid to bring some respite to women in the area.
