Some Concerned Youth of Ketu North District in the Volta Region have appealed to President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo to appoint Mr Awudi Gabriel as the District Chief Executive Officer (DCE) of the area.

The leader of the group, Mr Pascal Ransford Bedzra, told the media in an interview that Mr Awudi Gabriel is the right person to occupy the office, since he is going to be the representative of the President at the grassroot level and possess the qualities of the President (Competent and Incorruptible).

The Ketu North District, the group noted is endowed with numerous resources which needs a visionary DCE to turn these resources to the betterment of the local people and not with any other person than Mr Awusi Gabriel.

A vetting committee comprising constituency executives, representatives from the Assembly members, representatives from the Council of Elders and Patrons (constituency level) and representatives from the traditional council was formed to vet the 3 persons vying for the race.

Mr. Bedzra said residents and natives in the Ketu North District want President Akufo-Addo to appoint Mr Awudi Gabriel who has served the party in many capacities such as polling station youth organizer, constituency secretary and now the chairman is the most influential candidate among the three others to better champion the vision of the President Nana Addo in the District.

He said the District throughout its history has not witnessed any major transformation in the local government administration and believes that Mr Awudi when appointed by the President will be able to initiate government polices which will lead to the construction of schools, health centres, factories (one district one factory), issues of sanitation among other projects for the District.

The astute Patron Mr Awudi has been identified as one of the members of the party with broad experience of the Local Government act, and in-depth knowledge about the area, could effectively contribute to the development of the, area if appointed as the next DCE, his supporters claim.

The group noted that, Mr Awudi is competent, trustworthy and a unifier whom when appointed as the DCE will help bring unity, peace and development to the good people of Ketu North.

They however, added that, the Ketu North District Assembly needs a visionary Chief Executive formed effectively manage the resources of the area which will eventually bring development to the district and beyond.

“We are pushing for the right person to be placed in that position because we don’t want anybody to jeopardize the plans of president Nana Addo as well as accomplish the party’s manifesto because if we fail to be citizens and resort to be spectators failure will make some of us a laughing stock”. They concluded.
