A three-month-old baby has died of the novel coronavirus in the Northern Region, health authorities have announced.
The infant was a week ago transferred from the Savelugu Hospital to the Tamale Teaching Hospital where he died of the virus. The baby was said to be having difficulty breathing.
Another COVID-19 victim, a 24-year-old lady, who was also referred from Bolgatanga, in the Upper East region to the Tamale Teaching hospital also died an hour after her arrival at the health facility.

The two latest casualties bring to three, the number of COVID-19 deaths in the Northern Region which currently has 52 coronavirus cases.
The first casualty of an 80-year-old woman was recorded in May.
Officials from the Ghana Health Service in the northern region have since cautioned residents to strictly adhere to all safety protocols announced by the service.
