Due to the coronavirus pandemic, we all have become way more cautious about hygiene. From washing hands frequently, wearing a mask to practising social distancing, people are following all the precautions that can keep the deadly coronavirus away.
Though yes, we all are washing our hands frequently, but some body parts need to be washed thoroughly. Here is a list of seven such body parts that need to be cleaned often and thoroughly.

Women do not wash their hair everyday but men do. Still, both men and women need tmassage the scalp thoroughly to get rid of the dead skin on the scalp. It is important to remove the dead skin, as the bacteria and mites feed on the dead skin.
Massage your head gently with water to get rid of dandruff, dead skin cells and to improve the blood flow.

Yes, your back gets wet when you take a bath. But do you rub your back enough? Probably not. Invest in a loofah or an exfoliating sponge. If not daily, at least use it three-four times a day to reduce the risk of skin infection.

While washing your hands if you are not cleaning under the nails, you are doing half the job.It’s under your nails that faecal bacteria can get deposited. To clean under your nails, use a cotton swab dipped in soap water or sanitizer and clean properly. Clipping the nails can also help in the dirt not getting collected.

This area is where sebaceous glands are situated and which secrete sebum. Sebum is the perfect hiding place for bacteria. Thus, it’s important to wash behind your ears daily. You can also take a cloth dipped in warm water and rub it behind the ears to clean the area.

The place is warm with nooks and cervix and thus best for bacteria to hide. Use cotton dipped in soapy water or alcohol to clean the area. If your belly button is pierced, it’s even more important to clean it regularly.

Most of us often think that dental hygiene includes cleaning the teeth and gums. Some think using mouthwash is enough to clean the tongue, which is not true. The tongue has ridges and bumps where bacteria can easily hide. This cannot just lead to bad breath but also tooth decay. Thus it’s important to clean the tongue every day using a tongue scraper.

If you have long hair, the back of your neck can be warm and moist, which can make it a perfect place for bacteria and mites. You can use soap and water, wet cloth or a loofah to clean the area
