Eighteen nurses in Kano state have tested positive for Coronavirus.
The state chairman of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives, Ibrahim Mohammed, who disclosed this to newsmen said 86 samples of nurses were taken and results of 18 have indicated that they tested positive.
He explained that nine of them are from National Orthopedic Hospital, Dala, seven from Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital and two from state hospitals.
He appealed to the government to provide health professionals with Personal Protective Equipment to enable them to discharge their duties effectively.
The Kano chapter of the Nigeria Medical Association has also confirmed that 34 of their members have tested positive to COVID-19 in Kano.
