Coronavirus: GHS to embark on house-to-house testing at high risk communities

The Ghana Health Services will soon hit high-risk communities in Ashanti Region to embark on a house-to-house testing of persons who may have come into contact with persons who have tested positive to the Coronavirus.

Health authorities say the move has become necessary because the region has become one of the epicentres of the COVID-19 pandemic in Ghana.

Ashanti Region has so far recorded nine cases of Covid-19 with two-related deaths as 284 persons are said to have come into contacts with Covid-19 patients, all of whom are being traced.

Deputy Regional Director in Charge of Public Health, Dr Yaw Ofori Yeboah who announced the move said security agencies have been alerted to support the exercise.

Dr Yeboah revealed all the necessary arrangements have been made while the equipment needed for the exercise have been procured.
