It has emerged that there are some agitations among party foot-soldiers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The agitations among party foot-soldiers of the NDC follow the Auditor-General’s performance audit report on the administration of scholarships by the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) which lists current Members of Parliament and state ministers of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) as being beneficiaries of the scholarships to the total tune of $4.7 million.

Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia, General Secretary to the NDC, confirmed the said agitations among party foot-soldiers on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem morning show on Monday.
According to him, the party foot-soldiers are angry because after fighting and doing all sorts of ‘dirty’ jobs for the party (NDC) to come to power, the benefits due them are given others who are not party members who also master courage to insult the party.
To him, the party’s foot-soldiers have the right to be angry given what they do to ensure the party comes to power, particularly during election years.
“Every party person is human and they have the right to be angry, and I support them because such things are painful,” he noted.
He, however, clarified that the party foot-soldiers were not angry at persons who legally acquired the scholarships but rather those who undeservedly got the scholarships.
