Former Ghana’s High Commissioner to India, Sam Pee Yalley, is of the view that scholarships awarded to some government appointees are in the right direction.
A performance audit report from the Auditor-General on GetFund’s administration of scholarships revealed that some politicians and other influential people in Ghana benefitted from the scheme.
Education Minister, Dr Matthew Opoku-Prempeh, Procurement Minister and Deputy Majority Leader in Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo, as well as the Executive Secretary of the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment, Prince Hamidu Armah were listed to have all benefited from the scheme.
