Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has revealed the incumbent government has not deliberately decided to abandon hospital projects started under former president John Dramani Mahama.
According to him, the Akufo-Addo-led government is committed to developing the health sector and cannot abandon projects for no reason.
“A hospital is not just a lintel, foundation and windows that is just an empty building. You will need to resource the structure as part of the project,” he noted.

Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen, the Information Minister explained there were no adequate funds for the operationalisation of the facilities.
“If there has been any constraint with us completing the projects, then it is the debt we inherited and there were no residual funds to continue these projects,” he said.
He added that the Akufo-Addo-led government had to find creative ways to secure loans to equip some of these facilities to get them running.
