Chairperson of the Women League Committee, Madam Hilary Boateng, has called on male journalists to help hype Women’s football.
Women’s football in the country has received less attention from the media and football fans.
Following the return of the league, however, Mrs Boateng wants more male journalists to hype their matches.
“I am appealing to male journalists to hype the Women’s League just as they have been hyping Kotoko, Hearts of Oak, Ashgold and King Faisal,” she told Asempa FM.
“When there is a match between Ash Town Ladies and Ampem Darkowaa Ladies, we need the male journalists to hype such matches for us.
“When you don’t watch the Women’s League, you will not know that the ladies are also good playing football. The perception that Women’s Football is slow is not true. Some of the ladies are very good.
“I am appealing that male journalists should visit the stadium during matchdays,” she added.
