The Student Representative Council of the Accra Technical University has threatened a massive demonstration if the current impasse between TUTAG/TUSAAG and government whic has resulted in a strike action by the former is not resolved within the shortest time.
The students have dubbed the intended action “Operation Desert Storm”, an action they say they will carry out in collaboration with the Ghana National Union of Technical Students (GNUTS).
The students also served notice that the demonstration would involve the active participation of ATU which currently has a student population of about 17,000.

The Technical University Teachers Association of Ghana (TUTAG) announced an indefinite strike on Monday 6th January 2020 to protest non-payment of allowances.
The Technical University Senior Administrators Association of Ghana (TUSAAG) followed suit with an indefinite strike of their own Wednesday.
Speaking to Joy News, President of ATU’s SRC, Safo Kwasi Kantanka, said it was the second time examinations had been canceled because of the associations’ strike in October last year.
