A Former Minister for Trade and Industry and leading member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is of the view that the party must up its game to capture power in 2020.
According to Mr Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, the NDC stands a higher chance of winning the election but needs to work harder.
“The New Patriotic Party (NPP) over-promised but are now under delivering so Ghanaians have lost confidence in the incumbent but it is now on the NDC to paint a better picture; that is the only way we can win power in 2020,” he said.

Mr Spio-Garbrah, reacting to the delay of the NDC’s manifesto and campaign message on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, said the party was working strategically.
“Our draft for the 2020 campaign manifesto not ready; it is a lot of work and needs careful strategy. Ordinary people wouldn’t need our campaign message to vote us. They know what to do,” he added.
To the NDC Stalwart, his suspicion is that the average person does not make a final decision on whom they are going to vote for until about 30 days to the election, day before or right in the ballot box.
He further added: “Our disenchanted members who didn’t vote in 2016 are eager to do so now. It is our duty to get them out to vote.
“Disgruntled NPP supporters would lead our campaign. Most of them are disappointed and would want a change.”
