The slum is located between Eden Securities and Makey Pud.
Witnesses say the fire started from one of the kiosks belonging to the son of the late landlord who sold the land to Makey Pub.

Adom News’ Samuel Dowuona reported on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem Tuesday that the residents suspect the fire was deliberate because the new land owner had paid the tenants off to move, but they were still there.
The fire affected more people than those who have been asked to move.

The late landlord’s son, however, denied the fire came from his kiosk.
Vehicles that were parked near the Nakay Restaurant were consumed by the raging fire.
Personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service were at the scene to put out the fire.
The Achimota fire disaster follows another fire that ravaged several shops at Asante Bekwa on Monday.
