Truck crashes man to death at Ofankor barrier [audio]

A middle-aged man has been crashed to death by a moving truck at John Teye Memorial School at the Ofankor barrier on the Pokuase road.

A witness, Mr Ansong, narrating the incident on Adom FM’s morning show Dwaso Nsem, Thursday said the incident happened in the early hours of Thursday morning while the truck was travelling from Ofankor to Accra.

According to him, the deceased, who was on a motorbike, was crashed to death in an attempt to overtake a vehicle which he (Mr Ansong) was on board.

He run into the truck fully loaded with bags of cement killing him instantly.

“There was this big truck with cement that was on the left, that was the inner lane of the road. Immediately the van hit a brake all that I saw was that the motor rider went straight under the truck, loaded with the cement which has about three wheels in the back and as I speak to you the guy is dead.

“Our driver tried to move but suddenly stopped the car, the man on his motor from nowhere run into the cement car, crashing and killing him instantly,” he reported.

He added that the deceased went through all three back tyres of the truck.

Mr Ansong said the victim, who is believed to be a bicycle repairer, was totally run over and dismembered by the truck on the main road at John Teye junction in Accra.

He added that the accident was so gory that many onlookers found it very difficult to look at the dead man’s dismembered body.
