The Ashanti Regional Police Command has announced the arrest and detention of a police Chief Inspector who allegedly raped a woman at the Manso Datano station in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region.
A statement signed by the Head of Public Affairs, ACP Godwin Ahianyo, it said the police administration has taken a serious view of the report which was carried on Kumasi-based Nhyira FM.

It added it has therefore ordered for the policeman to be arrested, detained and interdicted immediately.
It said “the Regional Police Command has begun investigations into the matter and any subsequent update will be communicated to the General Public.”
