Have Q&A sessions with Waakye Sellers, Tailors, Drivers, not Journalists only – Yvonne Nelson to gov’t

-

Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson has charged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government to extend its regular “question and answer” sessions to other segments of society and not limit it to journalists only.

The actress says such a move will help the government to touch base with the grass-roots, especially with citizens involved in informal occupation.

It is a regular feature for the President, Nana Akufo-Addo, to meet with journalists at the Jubilee House in what is called a “Meet-the-Press”, to respond to questions on various sectors of the economy.

But Yvonne Nelson wants the president to extend the meetings to other players within the country’s political space.

“Mr President, when are Ghanaians getting a Q&A session/time with you? Not journalists, or media personalities, I’m talking about students, carpenters, drivers, doctors, waakye sellers, tailors, hair dressers, mothers. etc.; we have a lot of questions,” she wrote on twitter.

Yvonne didn’t end there as she continued to talk about the poor state of government hospitals in the country.

Ghanaians have QUESTIONS! Mine is about our health sector! It breaks my heart. Hurts. Our public hospitals can’t handle the numbers! Do our leaders visit hospitals like Korle-Bu? There aren’t enough BEDS!

I wonder how our leaders feel when they land at Kotoka after visiting western countries… I really wanna know their honest feelings,” she tweeted.
