Some reporters of Adom FM, as part of its new campaign dubbed ‘My Road, My Vote’, aimed at addressing issues concerning the ever-deteriorating roads in Ghana on Tuesday took to the grounds to take a look at some roads in Accra.
The campaign, meant to initiate a comprehensive conversation among government, road contractors, engineers, consultants and road users, took Adom News’ Kwame Yankah to the Teshie-Nungua area and Shine Acquah to the Tema area.

Reporting on the state of roads in the area, Kwame Yankah described the Nungua roads as terrible. He said the bad roads were compelling commuters to resort to an alternative route within Greda Estate.
Chairman of the Nungua Drivers’ Union, Mr Dogbatse expressed worry over the deplorable nature of roads and lamented that drivers always spend their meagre earnings on buying spare parts for their vehicles due to the bad roads.

Shine Acquah was met with similar concerns on his visit to the Tema area where drivers and passengers demanded their road tolls are used to fix the roads.
Some women also expressed worry about miscarriages the bad roads could cause to pregnant women in the area.

Leaders of the campaign, the Dwaso Nsem team will use Ghana’s various budget statements and relevant provisions on road as the basis to lead discussions on the issue.
