We must clamp down human activities to end floods – NPP MP

-

New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Sekondi Constituency, Andrew Egyapa Mercer, says there must be a clamp down on human activities in Ghana to end flooding in parts of Ghana.

According to Hon Mercer, the institutions in Ghana must be allowed to work effectively and efficiently.

“Our law enforcement agencies can go and demolish structures in our waterways and stop developments along the motorway but the opposition will put a human face to it and politicise the issue though these are huge problems affecting all of us,” he said.

Speaking on Adom TV’s Badwam show, the legislator explained issues of climate change are no longer a far-off problem but happening in Ghana and there was the need for committed responses in dealing with it.

“We must be able to clamp down on human activities to make floods a thing of the past. We must be able to come together and ensure effective building regulations in Ghana,” he said.
