Watch: Boy, 12, drowns in river at Awutu Breku

A 12-year-old boy identified as Emmanuel Tetteh has drown while swimming in a river called “Ponpon” at Awutu Bereku in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region.

Report gathered suggests nobody saw Emmanuel going to the river only to be found dead.

According to the Awutu Breku Station Officer, Chief Inspector Tamakloe, the body has been sent to the Winneba Trauma and specialist Hospital to ascertain the cause of the death.

“I found his clothes lying by the river and from our preliminary investigations, we can establish he drowned whole swimming because there was no scratch on his body to show he was tempered with but we will still wait for the autopsy,” he said.

Meanwhile, some residents who reside close to the river stated they believe Emmanuel was assassinated and dumped in the river because the children in the community are very good at swimming.
