Listen: Aspiring MP to fight Ursula for ‘insulting’ Mahama

-

“The battle-lines have been drawn because if you touch former President John Mahama, you have touched me.” This is a warning to Minister of Communications, Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful who is reported to have described the former President as a serial caller.

She made the comment while reacting to Mr Mahama’s claim that the National Communications Authority deliberately shut down only pro-National Democratic Congress (NDC) radio stations for criticising the Akufo-Addo-led administration.

Her comment has incurred the wrath of NDC members majority of whom have taken Mrs Owusu-Ekuful to the cleaners.

The latest to join the bandwagon is the NDC parliamentary candidate for Sunyani West constituency, Millicent Yeboah Amankwah.

The livid woman expressed shock at the vitriolic attacks on the former President for speaking the truth.

The aspiring Member of Parliament said she is making the fight a personnel project and will meet Mrs Owusu-Ekuful boot-for-boot if she insults the former President again.

But for the intervention of Dwaso Nsem sit-in host, Omanhene Kwabena Asante and other panelists on the show, the aspirant would have flared-up.

“I am so furious for the Minister of Communications to call the former President a serial caller,” she fumed.

MP for Cape Coast North, Barbara Asher Ayisi

Member of Parliament for Cape Coast North, Barbara Asher Ayisi, who was on the show, appealed for calm.

She was certain the Communications Minister was taken out of context when she attempted to correct the falsehood put out by Mr Mahama.

She urged the NDC aspirant to exercise restraint and get more facts before launching her attack.
