Minister calls Mahama serial caller and gets harsh reply

George Opare, National Youth Organiser of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has lashed out at Communications Minister, Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful over her serial caller comments against former President John Mahama.

According to Pablo, as he is popularly known in the political circles, such statements from Mrs Owusu-Ekuful are becoming too many of someone of her caliber as a Minister and a Member of Parliament of Ghana.

Speaking on Adom TV’s Badwam show, Pablo argued it was wrong for the legislator to describe a former president of Ghana as a serial caller.

“How can she describe a former president as a serial caller? Ursula Owusu sometimes talks like she doesn’t even know her job. I have much respect for serial callers and I know some of them are knowledgeable than her,” he said.

Mrs Owusu-Ekuful, responding to claims by the former President that the National Communications Authority deliberately shut down only pro-National Democratic Congress (NDC) radio stations, said Mr Mahama argued like a serial caller for claiming that only pro-NDC media houses were shutdown.
