The Transport Minister, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah has warn Chinese contractors assigned to construct the Mamford Fishing Harbour in the Gomoa West District of the Central Region to stay away from young girls who have not attain the marital age in the community.
According to Mr. Asiamah, the Chinese nationals must ensure their presence in the community promotes peace and not to create confusion.

The Minister said this in a community engagement with the residents of Mamford and urged them give the workers their maximum support.
“They are going to be in this town for about a year and half and because we don’t want you to regard them as strangers when you see them, that is why we have come to introduce them”, he said.

“Report cases of sexual harassment to the chief in this town but if the girl is ripe for marriage and he is ready to marry her, that is fine”, he added.
Meanwhile, Mr Kweku Asiamah assured the funds for the construction of the Mamford landing beach is ready with the project to begin next week.
