New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia North Constituency, Collins Owusu Amankwah, has urged Ghanaians not to underestimate the threats of the attempted destabilisation of the government due to the nature and quantity of weapons involved.
He said some elements that are not comfortable with the Akufo-Addo-led government are using unorthodox means to take over power.
To him, the size of weapons does not matter when it comes to taking over government.
“It will shock you to know that there is more to this issue than what we currently know. I am telling you, mark my words; you will be shocked to hear some names popping up soon. Let’s just wait and see,” he said.

“There are some people who think that the Akufo-Addo government is doing well per reports and according to research, when elections are conducted today, the NPP will win and as a result, some people, who are not comfortable, just want to use funny way of taking over government to destroy the nation just like a man who wants to rape a woman and has been caught,” he told Accra based Okay FM, monitored by Adomonline.com.
Mr Amankwah believes there is more to the matter than what has been put out in the public.

He, however, disagreed with people bashing the Information Minister for announcing the matter in a press statement.
“When the matter broke, people were attacking the Information Minister for announcing it. In fact, were they expecting the Agric Minister or Sanitation Minister to address the issue? Some people are just bent on pooh poohing the issue and I can tell you it won’t work,” he added.
